The Fabulous Beekman Weekend

Romaine and I spent the weekend on the Beekman 1802 Farm with Josh and Brent. You can catch them on Planet Green on The Fabulous Beekman Boys. They had been trying to get us to visit for years and we finally made the drive up to Sharon Springs on Saturday morning to join them for the annual Garden Party. First we dropped by the Beekman 1802 Mercantile to say hi to Brent, who was hanging out on the front porch of the Roseboro Hotel where the Mercantile is located. He was happily surrounded by devoted Beek Geeks and the Mercantile was doing a brisk business. After lunch at the American Hotel (delicious ham and cheese sandwich!) and seeing a bunch of listeners, we headed off to the Beekman Farm to see Josh.
Here is a short video of Josh talking to one of the visitors to the farm discussing gardening, while Romie and Romaine look on. You can see a bit of the front of the Beekman Mansion. It is really beautiful.

Romie was obsessed with picking little blue flowers out of the lawn and searching for four-leaf clovers. Romaine and I sat on the grass and watched her pick flowers. And at one point, Romaine thought it would be really funny if she snatched the little flowers from Romie's hands and crushed them, like her dreams! Here is a video of Romaine trying to get the best of Romie.

It was a really amazing weekend. Josh made delicious bacon and eggs for breakfast. We hung out in the barn on the famous goat cam. Polka Spot let us pet her and didn't spit on us once! And we had a lot of fun hanging out with Josh and Brent and Josh's parents out on the porch as the sun went down. Our only regret? We didn't have time to splash in the pool. Next time!
