Grindr Launches First Ever Co-Branded App With Derek and Romaine

LOS ANGELES, June 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Grindr, the largest all male location based network that caters to gay, bi and curious men, is pleased to announce its first ever co-branded app, in partnership with the popular, GLAAD award winning radio duo Derek and Romaine. This new version of the successful Grindr application called DNR Social allows fans of the radio show to connect with other listeners and existing Grindr users anywhere in the world based on their location.

Hosted by Derek Hartley and Romaine Patterson, Derek and Romaine is a popular drive-time radio program on Sirius XM Radio targeting the LGBT community. The show is available to subscribers on Sirius and XM Radios, as well as on the Sirius XM app for the iPhone and BlackBerry. "As our show enters its eighth year on air, we are thrilled to partner with Grindr on this exciting new way to bring our listeners closer together," says co-host Derek Hartley. "Grindr is the undisputed leader in connecting gay men in the exploding smart phone market. Romaine and I think this new co-branded app is a great way for our listeners to find each other in everyday life and coordinate meet-ups during our numerous in-person events across the country."

Grindr recently announced its growth to more than 700,000 users and is the largest all male location based network in the world, with users in 162 countries. Unlike other social networking sites Grindr is mobile and works based on location. With the help of GPS, the application is able to find other men within a given location. "Grindr is a natural fit with the Derek and Romaine audience," says Grindr founder Joel Simkhai. "They already have a large segment of their audience listening to the show through their smart phones and with DNR Social, listeners can effortlessly add to that experience and meet other men in their area who love the show. It's win-win."

DNR Social is available now for the Apple iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad and can be downloaded at http://www.dnrsocial.com/.
